Western Division Chief

A Western Division Chief is a senior administrator responsible for overseeing a group of historic sites and museums located in western Pennsylvania. The position operates above individual site administrators and serves as a link between local properties and the central leadership of the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.

Typical responsibilities include supervising site administrators, coordinating budgets and personnel matters, implementing agency policies, reviewing operational and programming decisions, and providing administrative direction on facilities, collections, volunteers, partnerships, and major projects.

For sites within the western division, including the Erie Maritime Museum and the U.S. Brig Niagara, the division chief holds significant administrative authority.
